    With submissions from practitioners and artists around the world, NoiseFloor combines presentations related to the composition and performance of contemporary music with a series of concerts for experimental sound and moving image. Other works include: Jason Palamara Past every exit, Rodney DuPlessis Coacervate, Manoli Moriaty Aphonae and James Dooley and Dave Payling Biphase

    This concert features a duo from the rarescale ensemble who specialise in creating new chamber music repertoire for low flutes.

    The set opens with an intriguing work for solo alto flute by Leeds composer Ben Gaunt with a video created by Sheffield-based comedian Sean Morley. rarescale then performs works which exploit the full range of the low instruments by American composer/flautist Daniel Kessner and Keele University composer Sohrab Uduman.

    Rarescale is a chamber music ensemble, formed by alto and bass flute specialist Carla Rees in 2003, that showcases the work of emerging composers for alto and bass flutes.
